Dell Drivers for Deployment

By October 1, 2012June 7th, 2022Blog

PEI recently refreshed a portion of our laptop fleet with new Dell laptops. We decided to adopt System Center Configuration Manager 2012 and use it to deploy Windows 7, drivers and applications to the new laptops. Typically when you need a dell driver, you head to Dell’s support site and download the drivers you need a la carte. Initially, I used these drivers in our deployment process, however we found that they didn’t always install properly (if at all).

After some searching, I discovered that Dell has Driver CAB files for Enterprise Deployment on their Dell Enterprise Client Wiki. These cab files can be extracted by 7-Zip, and include drivers that work flawlessly with System Center. All of Dell’s business class machines (Latitude, Optiplex, and Precision) have drivers listed on this site. Head to this link and grab your Dell Drivers for Deployment today! https://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2065.dell-driver-cab-files-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment.aspx
